Asha Tea House is an excellent boba shop in Berkley, CA. The remarkable thing about Asha is the quality of the tea. They intentionally source all of their loose leaf teas from all over the world. When combined with house made fruit surups, the tea creates some of the best boba I’ve ever had. They also sell their loose leaf tea by the pound online if you don’t live in Berkley.

Notes:

Jubilee is an excellent coffee roaster just outside of Denver. Very high quality pour over and cold brew. Make sure you take a look at their syphon cold brew system.

Honolulu, HI #

Notes:

Located in downtown Honolulu, Drip Studio is a specialty coffee shop with an emphasis on pour overs. They keep a small crew of well trained baristas to maintain a consistent and high standard. They were all kind and highly knowledgeable.

Notes:

Tradition coffee roasters is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. They have an excellent selection of coffee including local Hawaii, global sources, and even rare varieties such as peaberries. Excellent pour over or espresso.

Calibre Coffee is a coffee shop in the North-West suburbs of Chicago. While not a specialty coffee shop or roaster, it serves as a nice place to sit down, have a good cup of coffee and get some work done.

Austin, TX #

Spokesman Coffee #

Notes:

Spokesman coffee is a coffee shop by day and bar by night. They have a few locations all in Austin, TX and they are usually attached to climbing gyms so you can go climbing and then get a nice coffee or beer. Super fun art and solid espresso.

Narrative Coffee is a cool coffee shop in an amazing old building. It has massive skylights and massive, beautiful, live edge tables. The cortado had excellent milk texture and was a pleasant, medium-dark roast.
